Giants' Sanchez leaves game with sprained knee

Published Jul. 17, 2012 9:53 p.m. ET

Giants catcher Hector Sanchez has left Tuesday night's game against the Braves after spraining his left knee.

Sanchez singled in the fourth inning and then took off for second base when pitcher Barry Zito attempted a bunt. Zito missed the ball and Sanchez appeared to hurt himself when he stopped running. He was limping as he left the field.

Sanchez started with regular catcher Buster Posey playing first base.

Brandon Belt ran for Sanchez and remained in the game at first base and Posey moved to catcher.
