Giants right-hander Cain to miss start

San Francisco right-hander Matt Cain will miss his scheduled start against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday with right elbow inflammation.

Cain pitched a career high 223 1-3 innings last year, and tossed two scoreless innings in his spring debut. Right-hander Ryan Vogelsong, a candidate for the bullpen, will replace him.

Vogelsong also worked two scoreless innings in his first appearance this spring.
