NEW YORK (AP) San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey left Friday night's game at Yankee Stadium a couple innings after fouling a ball off his right foot.

X-rays were negative and Posey was listed as day to day.

Posey nicked himself in the second inning and exited in the fourth. He had walked and singled before Trevor Brown replaced him against New York.

Posey is a four-time All-Star and started the showcase game earlier this month. He is hitting .288 with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs this year.

The NL West-leading Giants already have outfielder Hunter Pence and infielder Joe Panik on the disabled list, among others.
