The San Francisco Giants have called up catcher Hector Sanchez and right-handed reliever Jake Dunning.

To make room for the newcomers, San Francisco sent first baseman Brett Pill to Triple-A Fresno and designated reliever Ramon Ramirez for assignment.

Sanchez began the season with the Giants before being sent down. He hit .320 in 19 games with Fresno and gives the Giants added depth behind the plate. San Francisco is in the middle of a stretch in which it will play 36 games in 37 days.

Dunning spent the beginning of the season in Fresno after being a non-roster invitee during spring training. He went 1-2 with a 1.75 ERA in 23 appearances for Fresno.

Ramirez allowed runs in five of six appearances this season after being called up last month.
