Ethier making the most of his playing time
Andre Ethier didn’t figure to play much to start the season, at least not as a starter. With Joc Pederson taking over in center field, Yasiel Puig solid in right and Carl Crawford or Scott Van Slyke patrolling left, there didn’t appear to be much room on the field for him. Yet with Puig going on the DL, the longest-tenured Dodger closes out the month of April as the team’s current right fielder.
He has a slash line of .304/.400/.587 in 46 at-bats -- the eighth-most on the team. He’s hit three home runs and driven in eight runs while scoring 10.
The long-time Dodgers’ right fielder has also been solid defensively making an impressive diving catch on Wednesday night which led to an ecstatic reaction from rookie Pederson who was standing over him.
