Dodgers' Seager out 1-2 weeks with sprained left knee
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Dodgers rookie shortstop Corey Seager will be out one to two weeks with a sprained left knee.
Seager, Los Angeles' top prospect, underwent an MRI on Saturday, and Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman says it ''all looks good.''
Pain in the knee forced Seager to leave in the third inning of an 8-4 spring training loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.
Seager told manager Dave Roberts that he injured the knee rounding first base after hitting a single in the first inning. Roberts pulled Seager after he hit a pop-up in his second at-bat.
Seager is expected to take over as the Dodgers starter at shortstop this season. He is 3 for 13 in five games this spring after hitting .337 with four homers in 27 games last season.
