What just happened?
The Red Sox were getting steamrolled by Detroit’s pitchers to the tune of 31 strikeouts through 16 2/3 innings. They had only managed three hits and one run in the entire series until the eighth inning of Game 2. Then they go and do something like this:
And totally redeem themselves.

Perhaps it was only a matter of time. Boston was the highest scoring team in all of baseball this season. And, it’s not so surprising that Ortiz hit a grand slam to tie the game, it’s everything that led up to that moment. 31 strikeouts, people! But, Big Papi and (ugh) Boston does it again.
What a game ... and what a win for Boston.
