Damon ejected in Tigers' game against Angels
Detroit Tigers left fielder Johnny Damon was ejected for arguing balls and strikes during the fifth inning of Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Damon took a borderline pitch on the inside corner from Jered Weaver with the bases loaded for the third out and complained to umpire and crew chief Dale Scott about the call.
Scott was working first base during the Tigers' 6-5 loss on Tuesday night when he called Damon out in the sixth inning on a grounder to second base that Howie Kendrick fielded on the outfield grass. Television replays showed that Damon was safe. Two innings later, with the potential tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position, umpire Dan Iassogna called Damon out on a called third strike that appeared to be under his knees.
