D-backs' Pollock playing like an All-Star lately

Although he isn’t among the contenders in the National League for an outfield starting spot in the All-Star Game, Diamondbacks center fielder A.J. Pollock has been playing like an All-Star lately. Pollock has gotten a pair of hits, one of which was a home run, in each of his past two games. The homer on Tuesday was the first ball hit this season into the pool at Chase Field, and it put the D-backs up for good in that game.

Paul Goldschmidt, the D-backs’ best player and one of the best in baseball, thinks he’s deserving. Per MLB.com:

"He's a really good player, definitely All Star-type caliber. He does it all," Goldschmidt said after Arizona's 7-6 win over Atlanta. "He does everything really, really well. You might not see him hitting 40 homers or anything like that, but it's all five tools.”
