Court hearing rescheduled for Rangers-fan lawyer

Published Oct. 27, 2010 9:27 p.m. ET

It appears than even impartial judges in Texas are Rangers fans.

A Dallas attorney pleaded with a judge to postpone a pretrial hearing Wednesday in Irving, a Dallas suburb, so he could attend Game 1 of the World Series in San Francisco.

In an emergency motion, Darrell Cook says he has ''very important baseball matters to attend to'' and a postponement would ensure that ''justice may be done.'' He explains in a footnote that justice would be Rangers pitcher Cliff Lee mowing down the San Francisco Giants' lineup.

A judge apparently agreed. Cook's request was granted after prosecutors gave no objection.
