PHOENIX (AP) Colorado Rockies starter Tyler Matzek appeared to injure his left hamstring on his first pitch of the sixth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Matzek allowed two runs in the fifth inning Monday night and came out for the sixth to face Yasmany Tomas. The right-hander threw a pitch high and outside, then catch Michael McKenry came out to the mound after Matzek said something.

Matzek spoke with Rockies manager Walt Weiss and the trainer before leaving the game.

He was replaced by Brooks Brown with the Rockies leading 5-2. Matzek allowed two runs on five hits in the game.
