Clemens wants stay of judge's order to share info

NEW YORK (AP) Former Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens wants a judge to stay an order that he share documents with his accuser in a defamation case.

Clemens' legal team filed documents in federal court in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

A judge had ruled last week that Clemens needs to turn over hundreds of pages of documents to Brian McNamee, a former Yankees strength coach. McNamee's suit alleges Clemens defamed him after he told federal investigators and Congress that he injected Clemens more than a dozen times with steroids and human growth hormone from 1998 through 2001.

Clemens' team said he plans to appeal the judge's order, and that the order should be stayed until that appeal is ruled on.
