Chipper Jones out of Braves lineup

Published May. 19, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones is out of the starting lineup because of a bruised left calf.

Juan Francisco replaced Jones at third for Saturday's game against Tampa Bay. Jones was hit in the leg by B.J. Upton's hard one-hopper in the third inning of Friday night's game, but remained in the game until departing after the seventh inning.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez is hopeful that Jones will be able to play again by Monday.
