Charter-Time Warner Cable merger to make Dodger channel more widely available

Published May. 26, 2015 6:13 p.m. ET

With Charter Communications taking over Time Warner Cable, it appears Dodger games on SportsNet LA will become more widely available in Southern California soon. The Los Angeles Times had the report:

"We are going to get the Dodgers on," Charter Communications Chief Executive Tom Rutledge said Tuesday morning in an interview with the L.A. Times.

The merger must be approved first, but Rutledge said Charter customers would have the channel available in a few weeks, according to the L.A. Times. While subscribers to Time Warner Cable had been the only ones with access to the exclusive home of the Dodger games in the region, the deal would add 300,000 Charter subscribers.
