Burnett scratched, A-Rod back in lineup

Published Aug. 9, 2010 12:23 a.m. ET

Yankees right-hander A.J. Burnett has been scratched from his start against the Boston Red Sox a day after he experienced back trouble during a workout.

Alex Rodriguez, however, is back in the starting lineup Sunday night after getting hit in the left leg by a liner during batting practice Saturday.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi says Burnett is feeling better after receiving treatment and is scheduled to start Tuesday. Right-hander Dustin Moseley moved up a day to start against Boston.

Phil Hughes will matchup against Jon Lester in the series finale Monday.

Girardi posted a tentative lineup Sunday that included Rodriguez, and the slugger took batting practice and fielded grounders to prove he was OK to play.
