DETROIT (AP) Two Michigan brothers who completed a 40-mile walk are heading to Detroit to throw out the first pitch at a Tigers game.
Danielle Gandee says her boys are scheduled to toss the ceremonial first pitch before Sunday afternoon's contest at Comerica Park against the Colorado Rockies.
Hunter Gandee carried his 7-year-old brother Braden on his back over two days in June. The Gandee brothers battled the elements and fatigue to finish the walk from their hometown of Temperance to Ann Arbor.
Called the Cerebral Palsy Swagger, the trek's goal was to raise awareness for the condition that prevents Braden from walking without assistance.
