Brewers' Segura leaves game with forearm injury
Milwaukee shortstop Jean Segura has left the Brewers' game against the Rockies in the sixth inning, developing tightness in his right forearm two innings after he swung into a pitch that hit him in the same area.
Segura swung at an inside offering from Collin McHugh in the fourth inning Saturday night and went down in pain when the pitch hit him on the forearm. A Brewers' trainer rushed out of the dugout and the game was halted for several minutes while Segura's forearm was examined.
Cleared to resume his at-bat, Segura grounded out on the next pitch. He took the field defensively in the fifth before being taken out in the middle of sixth, ahead of the Rockies' turn at bat, when the team said he developed tightness in the right forearm.
He was replaced by Jeff Bianchi.
