Braves recall right-hander Kameron Loe

The Atlanta Braves recalled right-hander Kameron Loe from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday and announced he will make a fill-in start against the Mets on Wednesday.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez announced after Monday's 13-5 win over New York that Julio Teheran, who was scheduled to start on Wednesday, will be given ''a breather.''

''If he could give us a good, solid outing, our guys could really use it right now,'' Gonzalez said of Loe.

Gonzalez said the remainder of the rotation will stay on schedule.

Loe, originally signed by the Braves on May 11, is making his second appearance with Atlanta. He allowed three runs in 2 2-3 innings over two games before he was designated for assignment on July 29. After clearing waivers, Loe was assigned to Gwinnett where he was 4-4 with a 3.07 ERA in 27 games.

Loe is 33-42 in nine seasons with Texas, Milwaukee, Seattle, the Cubs and Braves. He has pitched only in relief since making his last start with Texas in 2007.

Loe was used as a starter with Gwinnett.
