Blue Jays send Nickeas, Romero to Buffalo

The Toronto Blue Jays sent catcher Mike Nickeas and left-hander Ricky Romero outright to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

Both players were called up in early September for the last few weeks of the regular season.

Romero went 0-2 with an 11.05 ERA in four appearances with the Blue Jays. He was 5-8 with a 5.78 ERA in 22 appearances for Buffalo.

Nickeas appeared in one game with Toronto and didn't record an at-bat. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native hit .166 in 58 games with the Bisons.
