Blue Jays' Sanchez will enter 2016 as a starting pitcher

Throughout the postseason, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez worked out of the bullpen -- and did so effectively.

In 7 1/3 innings in the playoffs, Sanchez didn't allow a run, struck out six and allowed just one hit.

During the regular season, he made 11 starts, owning a 3.55 ERA in those starts and had 30 relief appearances, pitching to a 2.39 ERA.

Despite his electric stuff -- including a fastball in the high 90's -- Sanchez will likely enter 2016 as a starter, according to the Toronto Star.

It should be noted, however, that the Blue Jays are strapped for starting pitching at the moment, as David Price, Mark Buehrle and Marco Estrada are all set to hit free agency this offseason.

It's possible that the Jays will acquire starters to replace those three, pushing Sanchez to the bullpen yet again.

Either way, the 23-year old will certainly address an area of need -- the Jays need to find both starting pitching and relievers this offseason.
