Astros' Lee sprains ankle on hard slide into 2nd

Houston slugger Carlos Lee left Sunday's 4-3, 11-inning win against San Francisco in the ninth inning after spraining his right ankle on a hard slide into second base on a double.

The Astros said it was a mild sprain.

Lee doubled against Sergio Romo in a 2-2 game and hustled to beat the throw from right field, colliding with shortstop Orlando Cabrera.

Lee's right leg bent and it appeared the spikes on his right shoe got caught on the bag. He grabbed his right ankle in pain as the training staff rushed out to help him off the field.

Lee went 3 for 4 with two doubles.

''He'll be OK. He'll be a little sore tomorrow but the doctors seem to think he can play tomorrow and he thinks he can play tomorrow,'' manager Brad Mills said. ''Back to back three-hit, two-double games. He's driving in runs and helping set things up.''

Jose Altuve entered as a pinch-runner.
