Altuve hits inside-the-park homer

Jose Altuve led off the first inning with his first career homer - an inside-the-park shot - in Houston's game against San Francisco on Saturday.

Altuve gave Houston a 1-0 lead after hitting Madison Bumgarner's second pitch to deep left-center. It bounced off the wall and over Giants centerfielder Cody Ross, who had to chase it down. Ross threw it in to Mike Fontenot, but the shortstop's throw to the plate was high and wide.

On the play, third base coach Dave Clark gave Altuve the stop sign at third, but he ran through it.

The home run is the first inside-the-park homerun for the Astros at Minute Maid Park since Adam Everett on Aug. 6, 2003.
