Alex Rodriguez hit two home runs on Friday, moving him within two of tying Willie Mays for fourth place on the career all-time list.

Rodriguez hit his 657th and 658th homers Friday night for the New York Yankees to lead them to a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

In the second inning, Rodriguez drove an 0-1 pitch from Nathan Karns an estimated 471 feet over the wall in center. A-Rod then lined a two-run shot to left off Ernesto Frieri in the sixth for his fourth home run of the year.

Rodriguez posted his 61st multi-homer game and first since May 23, 2012. He missed all of last season because of a drug suspension.
