20-year-old Yoan Moncada pays $45K for custom upgrades in crazy new ride
Yoan Moncada doesn't just turn heads when he's on the field, his new ride has people doing double-takes when he hits the road.
The 20-year-old Cuban prospect used part of the $31.5 million signing bonus he got from the Red Sox last spring to splurge on a stylish new car.
Moncada recently purchased an Avorza BMW i8 from Alex Vega of The Auto Firm in Miami, a beautiful hybrid sportscar in itself. But Moncada put $45,000 into custom upgrades, and the finished product is absolutley stunning.
Vega posted photos, along with the details of the custom job, on Instagram:
Not bad for a kid who has yet to see the light of day in the majors.
Moncada made his professional baseball debut last year with Class-A Greenville, where he batted .278 with a .380 on-base percentage, .438 slugging percentage, .817 OPS, eight homers, 19 doubles, three triples and 38 RBI in 81 games.
