Ibrahim Sulemana - Will miss a month Sulemana suffered a right MCL sprain while on international duties, Bologna relayed.
Impact Sulemana got hurt shortly after completing his transfer to Bologna and will likely be back after the next international break. Remo Freuler, Lewis Ferguson, Nikola Moro and Giovanni Fabbian will be the options in the midfield for a while since Tommaso Pobega (thigh) is on the shelf as well.

Impact Pobega will be back at some point in early October and will sit out several matches, considering also the Europa League ones. Lewis Ferguson and Nikola Moro will partner with Remo Freuler in the midfield since Ibrahima Sulemana (knee) went down as well.

Ibrahim Sulemana - Joins Bologna Sulemana has moved to Bologna on loan with an option to buy from Atalanta.
Impact Sulemana departs Atalanta after the acquisition of Yunus Musah in the same role and struggling to get minutes in 2024/2025, where he notched five shots (two on target), one key pass and nine tackles in nine appearances (three starts), scoring twice late in the season. He showed decently as a regular at Cagliari. He joins Remo Freuler, Lewis Ferguson, Tommaso Pobega and Nikola Moro in Bologna's deep midfield.

Giovanni Fabbian - Threatening against Como Fabbian had three shots (zero on goal), one tackle (zero won) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-0 win over Como.
Impact Fabbian started over Jens Odgaard and Federico Bernardeschi and made his presence felt in the final third, even though all his efforts were wide. He'll have to fight for minutes all season long, as he was mostly a deputy in 2024/2025. He had logged 19 minutes in the opener, without putting up stats.

Impact Zortea got the call and played the full game about a week after joining and was dependable defensively, while he limited his forays relative to his Cagliari days. He'll likely alternate with Emil Holm (thigh) after the break. He had made just a short cameo in the opener.

Impact Castro subbed on in the 30th minute for the injured Ciro Immobile and led Bologna in shots, but could not find the back of the net. The forward should get a shot in the starting XI now that Immobile will miss around two months recovering. He logged eight goals and four assists in 43 appearances (31 starts) in 2024-25.

He tallied six assists, 57 key passes and 211 crosses (57 accurate) in 31 Serie A games (25 starts) last season, with seven clean sheets.
