Nicolo Casale - Subs off early versus Roma Casale recorded one clearance and one interception before exiting Sunday's tilt against Roma at halftime due to a thigh issue, Sky Italy reported.
Impact Casale got the start over newcomer Martin Vitik and had an okay showing but didn't return from the locker room after indicating some discomfort near the end of the first half. He'll be assessed in the coming days ahead of next Saturday's home game versus Como.

Ciro Immobile - Hurt in Roma game Immobile subbed out at the 29th minute of Sunday's match versus Roma due to an apparent thigh injury, Gianluca Di Marzio reported.
Impact Immobile didn't tally relevant stats before leaving early after clutching the back of his leg. He's headed for some tests. Santiago Castro was picked over Thijs Dallinga to replace him up front, which could be the case also versus Como in a week.

Impact Ferguson is back with the team this week as they start the season, recovering from his thigh injury after training this week. He did see a starting role to end the season last campaign, starting in 10 of his 16 appearances, and will hope to see more time in that position after testing his legs against Roma.

Nadir Zortea - Heads to Bologna Zortea has joined Bologna on a permanent deal from Cagliari.
Impact Zortea jumps to a bigger team after a career year at Cagliari, during which he put up six goals and two assists and added 28 key passes, 33 shots (10 on target) and 119 crosses (34 accurate). He'll play in a more defensive role at Bologna for the most part, alternating with Emil Holm (thigh) and Lorenzo De Silvestri. As for Cagliari, Mattia Felici and Riyad Idrissi will benefit in the short term.

Federico Bernardeschi - Shakes off injury Bernardeschi (knee) returned to full training Tuesday, Bologna informed.
Impact Bernardeschi tweaked his knee in early August but got away with a simple sprain and has been able to heal before the start of the season. He'll primarily back up Riccardo Orsolini and Jens Odgaard to start the season.

Impact Ferguson picked up a calf injury a couple of weeks ago but has been able to recuperate in time for the opener. It remains to be seen whether he'll face some limitations, considering he missed some time during the pre-season preparation. Tommaso Pobega and Nikola Moro will be candidates to replace him next to Remo Freuler.

Impact Odgaard has been able to recuperate within the expected timetable after having surgery right after the end of last season. He hit the net six times in 29 domestic matches in 2025/2026, adding one assist, 49 shots (22 on target), 17 key passes and 24 crosses (seven accurate).

Impact Dallinga was managed early in the summer but has been able to return well before the start of next season. He underwent sports hernia surgery in late May. He'll have to compete also with Ciro Immobile on top of Santiago Castro in 2025/2026. He struggled to get going last year, finishing with three goals, two assists, 31 shots (11 on target) and 12 key passes in 31 Serie A appearances (11 starts), scoring once in four Champions League tilts.

Federico Bernardeschi - Suffers knee sprain Bernardeschi will miss three weeks due to a right knee sprain, Bologna announced.
Impact Bernardeschi got hurt during a friendly and faces a race against the clock to be ready for the opener on August 23, also considering he'll have to work on his conditioning after getting cleared since he'll sit out most of the pre-season preparation. On the other hand, all the other men in his role are healthy.
