Emil Holm - Recovering from calf injury Holm will need three to four more weeks to recover from a calf strain, Bologna announced.
Impact Holm got hurt right before the World Cup, and the injury turned out to be rather significant, forcing him to sit out part of the summer program, but he's expected to be ready for the Serie A opener in late August.
1 DAY AGO • ROTOWIRE
Jhon Lucumi - Decent end to World Cup campaign Lucumi generated one shot (zero on goal) in Tuesday's 0-0 (4-3) penalty shootout defeat to Switzerland.
Impact Lucumi made up for a subpar production of clearances by recording three interceptions and earning another clean sheet in Tuesday's game. The center-back served as a consistent member of Colombia's lineup over the international tournament, in which he racked up four clean sheets, and his average of 4.4 clearances per contest represented the second-highest figure on the squad.
2 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Lorenzo De Silvestri - Returns to Bologna De Silvestri has agreed to a one-year contract with Bologna.
Impact De Silvestri elected to continue playing and is poised for his seventh season with Bologna after spending a week as a free agent. He'll likely have the same role as in the previous campaigns, backing up two teammates, currently Emil Holm and Nadir Zortea, at right-back. He logged 24 clearances, seven crosses (Four accurate) and seven interceptions in 12 appearances (six starts) in 2025/2026, with no clean sheets.
3 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Torbjorn Heggem - Average outing in win Heggem had two tackles (two won) and two clearances in Sunday's 2-1 win versus Brazil.
Impact Heggem took part in a variety of defensive actions while racking up 74 accurate passes as his team enjoyed more time on the ball during this game. However, the defender fell short of his previous numbers in terms of clearances and saw his side's clean sheet slip away in the final minutes. In any case, he'll likely stay in the lineup for the next round, having played over 80 minutes in each of his four appearances in the tournament.
4 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Jhon Lucumi - Helps to clean sheet Lucumi recorded nine clearances and one interception in Friday's 1-0 victory against Ghana.
Impact Lucumi would see a great day in the defense as he earned an interception and nine clearances, helping his team to a clean sheet. This is now a third straight clean sheet he has helped Colombia to, a great defensive record so far this World Cup. However, with Switzerland on the horizon, it will get tougher for his team, likely to remain a starter for the round of 16.
6 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Emil Holm - Could get another chance at Bologna Holm wasn't retained by Juventus after a six-month stint and could stay at Bologna next season.
Impact Holm was deployed frequently when healthy in Turin after a temporary swap with Joao Mario, but the two clubs passed on the opportunity to make the trade permanent. He'll have a new coach, Giovanni Tedesco, in 2026/2027. He posted one goal, four assists, 38 crosses (eight accurate) and 38 tackles last year in his two spells, helping secure two clean sheets. He'll compete with Nadir Zortea and Lorenzo De Silvestri if he doesn't switch sides.
JULY 1 • ROTOWIRE
Torbjorn Heggem - Limited in win Heggem recorded one shot (one on goal) in Tuesday's 2-1 victory versus Cote D'ivoire.
Impact Heggem wasn't involved overly much during Tuesday's win. Kristoffer Ajer dominated the stat sheet defensively and Heggem didn't have any chances to get forward really. It was a good win, and a nice showing by the entire Norwegian defense. Heggem will have everything to do against Brazil's attack in the round of 16.
JUNE 30 • ROTOWIRE
Jhon Lucumi - Makes three tackles, wins one tackle Lucumi generated one tackle (one won) and three clearances in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Portugal.
Impact Lucumi completed the full 90 minutes on Saturday, making three tackles and winning one duel as Colombia secured a clean sheet against Portugal. Alongside Davinson Sanchez, he has helped establish a strong defensive foundation that has produced two clean sheets and just one goal conceded through the group stage. His individual contributions now include 11 clearances, six duels won, and 11 recoveries, reinforcing his importance as a steady, reliable presence in Colombia's back line.
JUNE 27 • ROTOWIRE
Lewis Ferguson - Six corners in 3-0 loss Ferguson recorded two shots (one on goal), six crosses (one accurate) and six corners in Wednesday's 3-0 defeat to Brazil.
Impact Ferguson took six corners and was able to complete one of these six crosses as Scotland lost 3-0 to Brazil. Scotland will hope that they have done enough to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams. The midfielder won two of his four tackles and also made two clearances. He conceded two fouls in the match but has finished the group stage without a yellow card despite making five fouls. One of his corners ended in a great header that required a strong save from Alisson.
JUNE 25 • ROTOWIRE
Remo Freuler - Patrols the midfield in Canada game Freuler won one of two tackels and had one block, four clearances and one interception in Wednesday's 2-1 win versus Canada.
Impact Freuler was the customary defensive stalwart in the midfield and filled the stat sheet on that end, while his contribution on the other end was lacking. He has tallied at least one tackle in all three fixtures, accumulating five (four won) and logging two key passes, two blocks and two crosses (one accurate) over that span.
JUNE 25 • ROTOWIRE
Jhon Lucumi - Leads clearances in solid display Lucumi recorded one shot (zero on goal) in Tuesday's 1-0 victory versus Congo, The Democratic Republic of The. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 56th minute.
Impact Lucumi had a relatively quiet night defensively for much of the game, as Congo struggled to get forward with any real threat. He did have a difficult spell dealing with Yoane Wissa in duels, which eventually led to a yellow card for a foul on the winger. However, as Congo pushed for an equalizer late on, Lucumi stepped up and put in a commanding defensive shift, racking up clearances and contributing a crucial block. He finished the game as the team's leader in clearances with six, adding one interception and one block. He was also important in build-up play, completing 50 passes and delivering six long balls.
JUNE 24 • ROTOWIRE
Torbjorn Heggem - Logs five clearances versus Senegal Heggem won two of two tackles and had five clearances and one block in Monday's 3-2 win over Senegal.
Impact Heggem put together a busy stat line but wasn't too attentive and reactive on the two goals, in particular the first one, as Ismaila Sarr burst through on his side. He was briefly checked by the medical staff before subbing off at the 84th minute, so he might need to be assessed before Friday's clash with France. He was replaced by Leo Ostigard. He has recorded at least one tackle, for a total of three (all won), and five clearances, accumulating 11 through his first two outings, but with no clean sheets.
JUNE 23 • ROTOWIRE
Lewis Ferguson - Strong defensively vs Morocco Ferguson registered two crosses (zero accurate) and one corner in Friday's 1-0 defeat to Morocco.
Impact Ferguson started his second consecutive match in midfield for Scotland, once again putting in a strong 90 minutes in the middle of the pitch. It was a strong performance on the defensive end as he won 10 duels and four tackles, in addition to making two interceptions and one clearance. Morocco only managed two shots on target throughout the match, and Ferguson's presence in midfield was a big reason why. He also took two free kicks and one corner on the attack and while those are great opportunities for assists, he was a bit off in the area. He took the final corner of the match in the 96th minute, but it was a poor effort as it didn't give his teammates a chance to find the end of it. Next up is the final group stage match versus Brazil, a match where Ferguson will need to be at his best on both ends of the pitch in order to get a positive result for his nation.
JUNE 20 • ROTOWIRE
Remo Freuler - Disciplined display in deeper role Freuler generated one shot (zero on goal) and one chance created in Thursday's 4-1 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Impact Freuler was far less involved offensively compared to his opener against Qatar where he had made some runs into the box. He sat deeper against Bosnia and his only attacking moment came from a shot outside the box. But his importance showed in other ways as two tackles and 71 completed passes along with five accurate long balls made him a reliable presence defensively and in the build-up, and his one block proved to be a crucial moment as he denied what could have been a goal for Edin Dzeko.
JUNE 19 • ROTOWIRE
Jhon Lucumi - Solid defensive display in win Lucumi generated two clearances in Wednesday's 3-1 win versus Uzbekistan.
Impact Lucumi played a key role in a Colombian defense that limited Uzbekistan to just two shots on target across the match, helping control proceedings despite a second-half lull that allowed the Uzbek side to find an equalizer. He was part of the back line that recovered well after conceding to see out the win comfortably in the closing stages. Lucumi contibuted to 68 passes and two clearances during the night and his performance sets a solid foundation for Colombia as they head into their second game against DR Congo on June 23.
JUNE 18 • ROTOWIRE
Torbjorn Heggem - Leads team in accurate passes Heggem registered one tackle (one won) and six clearances in Tuesday's 4-1 victory versus Iraq.
Impact Heggem was chosen as expected ahead of Leo Ostigard to partner Kristoffer Ajer in central defense, continuing the partnership he had built in the recent two warm up games. He was a key figure in Norway's ball circulation, helping the team progress play out from the back, and led the side in accurate passes with 80. Defensively he contributed six clearances and one tackle, while winning three of the four duels he contested.
JUNE 17 • ROTOWIRE
Lewis Ferguson - Corner taker in 1-0 win Ferguson had one cross (zero accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 1-0 victory against Haiti.
Impact Ferguson took one of the three corners that Scotland had as they beat Haiti 1-0 in their World Cup opener. The midfielder was quiet for the rest of the game but did win his only tackle, made two interceptions and a clearance. The real point of difference for the midfielder was that he drew six fouls, only conceding one.
JUNE 14 • ROTOWIRE
Remo Freuler - Wins crucial penalty Freuler recorded two crosses (one accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Qatar.
Impact Freuler was at the center of the decisive first-half moment in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Qatar, driving into the box in the first half before being fouled by Mahmud Ibrahim Abunada in a challenge that VAR confirmed as a penalty, with Breel Embolo stepping up to give Switzerland the lead. The midfielder covered significant ground across the 89 minutes and was replaced by Ardon Jashari late in the second half as coach Murat Yakin sought fresh legs, with his side still protecting the lead at the time of his exit before the stoppage-time catastrophe unfolded.
JUNE 14 • ROTOWIRE
Torbjorn Heggem - Defender for Norway Heggem is expected to be a starter at the 2026 World Cup for Norway.
Impact Heggem is going into the World Cup with the Netherlands and looks to be set for decent time, as the defender is likely to start at center-back. He comes off a season, earning a decent 23 starts in 27 appearances this campaign, notching six clean sheets in his time on the field. He will then be relied on heavily with his partner in the center of the defense, as Julian Ryerson will join the attack on the right, almost creating a three-back for the rest of the defense. However, if Heggem has a rough match or is ineffective, Leo Ostigard is a decent shout to earn the starting role over him.

Impact El Azzouzi had been sidelined since early February with a knee injury that brought a premature end to his season, limiting him to one goal, 19 tackles, 16 interceptions and 13 clearances across 11 Ligue 1 appearances before the issue struck. Auxerre thanked the Moroccan midfielder for his contribution during his time at the club and wished him well for the next chapter of his career back in Italy.

JUNE 2 • Associated Press
Jhon Lucumi - Set for starting role in defense Lucumi has been named in Colombia's World Cup squad and is expected to form a strong central defensive partnership with Davinson Sanchez throughout the competition.
Impact Lucumi made 29 Serie A appearances for Bologna this season, contributing one goal and 2,300 minutes of defensive solidity alongside his teammates in what was another consistent campaign for the Colombian center-back in Italian football. Lucumi brings composure on the ball, intelligent positioning and the ability to play out from the back that makes him an ideal partner for the more physical Davinson Sanchez, and his experience in the Champions League with Bologna adds another dimension to his credentials. Lucumi heads into the World Cup as one of the most technically complete center-backs in the tournament and a key pillar of Colombia's defensive structure.
