2025 March Madness highlights: Arizona outlasts Oregon, Maryland wins at buzzer
The first weekend of March Madness wrapped up Sunday in the Round of 32.
To open the day, No. 1 seed Florida took down No. 8 UConn in a back-and-forth affair. As the top-seeded Gators advanced to the Sweet 16, the Huskies' hopes of becoming the first team to three-peat in over 50 years came to an end.
Later, it seemed as if Cinderella 12-seed Colorado State was set to meet the Gators, before Derik Queen's buzzer-beater won the game for No. 4 seed Maryland.
To cap the night, No. 2 Michigan State overcame a halftime deficit to beat No. 10 New Mexico, sending Tom Izzo to the Sweet 16 for the 16th time. The Lobos' loss means this NCAA Tournament will be the first to not have a single non-major conference team in the Sweet 16 in the 64-team format.
