Impact Lipsey failed to reach double figures in scoring for the first time in seven games but it was the last of his eight boards off of an Iowa State missed free-throw with less than five seconds remaining that helped seal the signature win for the Cyclones. The rebounding total was one off a season high for the senior playmaker, who also added at least four assists for the 21st time in 23 games played this season. Lipsey continues to struggle from the line and from long range, now shooting just 64.0-percent from the stripe and 26.8-percent on his three-point attempts after going 3-for-6 and 0-for-3 respectively on Monday. Despite those struggles, Lipsey has excelled in all other facets this season and is averaging 12.2 points, 4.7 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals across 31.5 minutes through 13 conference games.

Nate Heise - Clutch three spurs signature win Heise chipped in 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-3 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist and one steal over 27 minutes during Monday's 70-67 win over Houston.

Impact Heise helped spark Iowa State's second-consecutive win over a top-10 foe by draining all three of his attempts from long range, with none bigger than his go-ahead three with 1:17 remaining that gave the Cyclones the lead for good. The senior reserve, whose gritty performance included six boards, an assist and a steal, reached double figures in the scoring column for just the fourth time this season and the third time through 13 conference games. For the season, Heise is shooting just 31.8-percent from beyond the arc, though he has lifted that average to 37.1-percent against Big 12 competition after connecting on 40.9-percent last season.
