Tamin Lipsey - Dominates with career night Lipsey racked up 25 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound, six assists, one block and three steals in 36 minutes during Monday's 96-80 victory over Mississippi State.
Impact Lipsey posted a career high in scoring while also contributing his usual output as a ball distributor and elite defender. The senior guard saw his numbers take a dip across the board last season after a breakout sophomore campaign but he is on fire to start this season and has performed as the best two-way point guard in the country to this point. Through three games, the star floor general is already on pace to set career-best marks in scoring, assists and steals, having shot 56.8-percent from the floor while averaging 17.7 points, 5.7 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 4.3 thefts across 30.7 minutes.

Joshua Jefferson - Picking up where he left off Jefferson finished Monday's 96-80 victory over Mississippi State with 18 points (6-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 24 minutes.
Impact Jefferson has picked up where he left off last season for the Cyclones when he was named as a second-team all Big 12 performer. The senior forward is shooting 67.9-percent from the floor thus far on the young season, averaging 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists across 26.7 minutes per contest.

Joshua Jefferson scores 20 points in No. 16 Iowa State's 102-62 win over Grambling

Joshua Jefferson scored 20 points to lead six Iowa State players in double figures and the No. 16 Cyclones defeated Grambling 102-62
NOVEMBER 7 • Associated Press
Tamin Lipsey - Disruptive force on defense Lipsey contributed 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, six assists and five steals in 31 minutes during Thursday's 102-62 victory over Grambling State.
Impact Lipsey has lived up to his billing as one of the most disruptive guards in the country, recording five thefts for the second-consecutive game. The senior point guard who has started all 105 games in which he has played for his hometown school suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in late September but has been at his best through the first two games, averaging 14.0 points, 5.0 boards and 5.5 assists to go along with his elite work on the defensive end.
NOVEMBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Blake Buchanan - Providing inside presence Buchanan notched eight points (4-7 FG, 0-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and four blocks across 21 minutes during Thursday's 102-62 victory over Grambling State.
Impact Buchanan rebounded from a quiet opening night to show off his abilities both on the glass and in rim protection. The 6-foot-10 transfer from Virginia was brought in to bolster the front court for the Cyclones after averaging 5.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks across 21.9 minutes while starting 22 of 32 games last season for the Cavaliers.
NOVEMBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Jamarion Batemon - Drains three from deep Batemon logged 11 points (3-7 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), one rebound and one steal across 12 minutes during Thursday's 102-62 win over Grambling State.
Impact Batemon fired up seven shots from long range in just 12 minutes of action, converting on three as the Cyclones cruised to the win. The freshman is looking to carve a role for himself off the bench and has connected on 40-percent of his 10 three-point attempts while averaging 11.0 minutes through the first two games of his collegiate career.

Joshua Jefferson - Begins season with double double Jefferson posted 14 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 29 minutes during Monday's 88-50 victory over FDU.
Impact Jefferson picked up where he left off last season, reaching double figures in scoring and off the glass as the Cyclones cruised to victory on opening night. The standout senior forward recorded nine double-double performances last season and will look to top that total this year as one of the top returning power forwards in the country.
NOVEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Milan Momcilovic - Pours in career-high 29 Momcilovic supplied 29 points (11-16 FG, 7-10 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Monday's 88-50 win over FDU.
Impact Momcilovic drained 7-of-10 from beyond the arc en route to a career-best 29-point performance for Iowa State as they steamrolled their way to victory. The junior forward is a key piece for the Cyclones as one of three returning starters after having averaged 11.5 points on 39.6-percent shooting from beyond the arc last season. If Monday's performance is any indication, it appears Momcilovic is ready to take a scoring leap this season.
NOVEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Tamin Lipsey - Healthy for season opener Lipsey (knee) is in the starting lineup for Monday's season opener against Fairleigh-Dickinson, Alex Busse of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Lipsey suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain back in September, and he was projected to miss the beginning of this season. The starting point guard has luckily gotten healthy quicker than expected. He's coming off back-to-back seasons with at least 30 starts, double-digit points per game and multiple steals per game. He should be one of the focal points of the Cyclones' game plans this campaign.

Nate Heise - Leading scorer in final exhibition Heise led the Cyclones with 19 points (7-10 FG, 5-7 3Pt) to go along with two assists and two steals across 32 minutes in Sunday's 80-72 exhibition victory over Northwestern.
Impact Heise is entering his sixth collegiate season and has already appeared in 126 career games (35 with Iowa State), so he brings a wealth of experience to an already-strong ISU roster. He wasn't a starter for Iowa State for most of the 2024-25 season, but that changed down the stretch, and he ended up producing double-digit scoring five times in the last 10 games of the season. Already an incredibly efficient three-point shooter (40.9 percent in 2024-25), Heise will resume his sharpshooter role this season, seemingly in a starting capacity. However, it's worth noting the Cyclones have been playing without projected leading scorer Tamin Lipsey (knee) in exhibition play, and considering he has a good chance to be available for the Nov. 3 opener, Lipsey will likely take away touches and usage from Heise and the rest of the Iowa State backcourt once meaningful games commence.
OCTOBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
Joshua Jefferson - Standout in exhibition play Jefferson had 17 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and four blocks in Sunday's 80-72 exhibition victory over Northwestern.
Impact It was a solid follow-up to Jefferson's first exhibition performance Oct. 17 against Creighton, in which he was the leading scorer with 18 points (5-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-11 FT) to go along with 12 rebounds and a pair of steals. The Cyclones are playing without leading scorer Tamin Lipsey, who has a chance to be back for the Nov. 3 opener and will likely regain the bulk of Iowa State's offensive touches. Nonetheless, Jefferson's play has been encouraging, solidifying what was already a positive fantasy outlook for the 2025-26 season.
OCTOBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
Tamin Lipsey - Looking available for season opener Lipsey (knee) is expected to be available for Monday's game against Fairleigh-Dickinson, Jeff Goodman of On3.com reports.
Impact Lipsey was expected to be cleared before Monday's game, but his clearance did not guarantee Iowa State would use him. By being available, ISU can use Lipsey, so it looks more likely that the Cyclones will use him during their upcoming game. Ideally, there will be a clearer update on Lipsey's availability by Monday, and the team's Thursday practice will serve as a benchmark to determine where he is at.
OCTOBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
Tamin Lipsey - Expected to be cleared soon Lipsey (knee) is expected to be cleared before Iowa State's game Nov. 3 against Fairleigh-Dickinson, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Rothstein's update indicates that Lipsey is looking more probable than questionable as he and Iowa State prepare for their 2025-26 season. Considering how much credibility the Cyclones have established with him manning their point guard position, Rothstein's announcement is a big deal. Lipsey is coming off back-to-back seasons with at least 30 starts, double-digit points per game and multiple steals per game. For many players, the numbers are excellent, but they are a minimal expectation for a talented player like Lipsey.
OCTOBER 22 • ROTOWIRE
Tamin Lipsey - On track to return for opener Lipsey (knee) is on track to return for Iowa State's opener against FDU on Nov. 3, per Eugene Rapay of The Journal News.
Impact Lipsey suffered a Grade 2 MCL Sprain and was set to miss 4-6 weeks as of late September, but the point guard is reportedly on track for Iowa State's opener. Lipsey, Iowa State's table setter and starting point guard of three years, is coming off a a solid season in which he averaged 10.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals on 48/33/76 shooting splits. In his absence, the Cyclones should get a chance to evaluate freshman guard Jamarion Batemon.
