Joshua Jefferson - Providing necessary muscle Jefferson closed with 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals over 21 minutes during Saturday's 73-57 victory over Kansas State.

Impact Jefferson saw his playing time limited due to foul trouble but still reached double figures in scoring thanks to shooting 60-percent on 10 shots and draining both of his attempts from deep. Along with his typical work cleaning up the glass underneath, Jefferson added a couple of steals, the ninth time in 11 contests he's recorded multiple thefts. The guard-laden Cyclones have benefitted greatly from Jefferson's muscle this season and are poised for a deep run in the postseason thanks in large part to the play of the junior power forward.

Curtis Jones - Stars as sixth-man Jones recorded 24 points (5-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 11-12 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals over 34 minutes during Saturday's 73-57 win over Kansas State.

Impact Jones struggled from the field but took advantage of 12 trips to the charity stripe to post his 11th 20-point performance of the season. It was also the second time this season he's added at least five boards, five assists and two steals during one of those 20-point efforts. The Cyclones were missing Keshon Gilbert for the third time in five games but Jones maintained his role as one of the nation's top sixth-men, averaging 17.3 points during the 22 games he's come off the pine. He'll play an important role for the 10th ranked Cyclones as they enter the postseason as a strong contender in both the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments.

Brandton Chatfield - Removed from starting five Chatfield will come off the bench against Kansas State on Saturday, per Statbroadcast.com.

Impact Chatfield has been replaced by Dishon Jackson, the usual starting center, in the starting five. Chatfield logged just his second start of the season in the loss to BYU, but he'll come off the bench once again.

Impact Jackson will get the start as the Cyclones honor their seniors. The center is back in the starting lineup after Brandton Chatfield took that role in Iowa State's last game against BYU. Jackson averages 8.3 points and 4.8 rebounds this season.

Impact Heise has made just two starts this season, but he'll be part of the Cyclones' first five as Iowa State honors its seniors and also needs to replace Keshon Gilbert in the starting five. Heise averages 4.6 points and 2.9 rebounds this season.

Impact Gilbert played a career-high 43 minutes in the OT loss to BYU earlier this week and seems to have picked up a muscle injury. The team is likely proceeded with extra caution with the postseason on deck. The Cyclones are currently slated to kick off postseason play Wednesday. Curtis Jones should see a boost with Gilbert unable to go.

Impact Jones continues to amp things up following missing one game with an illness, scoring 16 points on 12 shot attempts across the 35 minutes, the most he's totaled in each category in the three games since returning from that one-game absence. Despite coming off the bench for 21 of his 29 appearances this season, Jones leads the Cyclones with 16.7 points per game while shooting 42.5-percent from the floor and 36.8-percent from deep. Jones is capable of taking over games, scoring 20 or more on 10 occasions, and will be relied upon to lead the team offensively as they look to defend their Big 12 tournament championship when the event commences next week.

Impact Gilbert played all but seven minutes in his second game since returning from a two-game absence due to a lat strain, contributing 13 points during the double-OT affair. However, the senior guard's biggest contribution Tuesday came defensively, where he added two blocks and a career-high eight steals to help Iowa State come back from a 21-point deficit to force OT before eventually succumbing to the Cougars in two OTs. Gilbert is the team's second-leading scorer and leading ball distributer, averaging 13.8 points and 4.3 assists per game while adding 1.8 steals on the other end of the floor.

Impact Momcilovic connected on 4-of-7 from downtown en route to a team-leading 17 points, the most he's recorded in the seven games since returning from an extended mid-season absence due to a left hand injury. The sophomore forward added three assists while reaching double-figures in the scoring column for the sixth time during those seven contests.

Tamin Lipsey - Playmaking skills on full display Lipsey ended Saturday's 84-67 victory over Arizona with 15 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 34 minutes.

Impact Lipsey recorded one of his better performances of the season, posting 15 points on an efficient 4-for-6 from the floor including drilling 2-of-3 from deep. The junior point guard added two boards and a couple of steals while dishing out eight dimes against just one turnover. The return of Keshon Gilbert to the lineup after missing a few games helped open things up for Lipsey and the Cyclones, who are returning to full health just in time for the postseason. Lipsey was a key cog for the club last season but has seen a dip in his numbers all the way around this season as players like Curtis Jones and Joshua Jefferson are enjoying career seasons. Iowa State has the depth to make a deep run in the postseason but an effective Tamin Lipsey is the most important cog in the Cyclones' hopes of making a trip to the Final Four for the first time in more than 80 years.

The good news is that the Cyclones were able to snap a two-game skid with a quality win, and Gilbert should be healthy with two games remaining in the regular season.
