This past weekend, Jim McElwain’s team got a huge commitment in the form of 2016 wide receiver prospect Freddie Swain.
A Rivals.com 4-star prospect, Swain chose the Gators over offers from Alabama, Miami, Southern Cal, Tennessee, and Michigan, among others.
Freddie Swain was one of the most impressive receivers I saw during this past camp circuit. The guy is a competitor.

At 6’1", 174 pounds, Swain possesses above-average quickness and agility. He’s adept at turning a five-yard pass into a 50-yard explosive play. Swain also possesses the height to be effective on the outside in jump-ball situations.
Florida has young skill talent in Antonio Callaway, Jordan Cronkrite, and Jordan Scarlett. However, there’s still a need for more explosiveness within its wide receiver corps. Swain is a nice step in that direction.
