Donald Chaney - Suffers ankle sprain Saturday Head coach Jeff Brohm indicated that Chaney (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain during Saturday's 49-14 victory over Jacksonville State, per Matt McGavic of SI.com.
Impact Chaney carried the ball three time for 21 yards prior to the injury, finding the end zone on a 10-yard scamper in the first quarter. The redshirt junior running back ran for 478 yards and two scores for Miami in 2023 before transferring to Louisville in the offseason. Chaney's timeline for return is thus far unknown, though it can be reasonably assumed that he will miss some time.

Impact After just one catch in the season opener, Huggins-Bruce had just one catch again Saturday against Jacksonville State. After three disappointing seasons for the Cardinals Huggins-Bruce does not look set for the break out season as a senior.

Impact Brooks has surmounted himself as the top target for Tyler Shough as he has now led the Cardinals in receptions and yards in back-to-back games, totaling 13 receptions for 172 yards and a touchdown in two games.
