His absence will open up the door for players like Joshisa Trader, Davion Dozier, Keenan Jackson, Victor Snow and Ashton Locklear to take on a larger role with a strong spring.

The 6-foot-3 wide receiver is now set to compete with App State transfer Dozier for NC State's WR3 role. Jackson logged 28 catches for 281 yards and two touchdowns in the 2025 campaign.

Paylor is also listed as a wide receiver on NC State's depth chart, so he could be utilized in multiple ways in the 2026 campaign.

He excelled as a big-play threat, averaging 22.4 yards per catch. He figures to have two seasons of eligibility remaining with the Wolfpack, where he'll look to earn a starting role immediately.

He currently projects as a Day 2 or early Day 3 pick and will have the draft process to help increase his stock.
