Darian Mensah - Returning to Duke
Mensah is returning to Duke for his 2026 season, Pete Thamel of ESPN reports.
Impact
Instead of entering the 2026 NFL Draft, for which he had the potential to be one of its top-five quarterbacks, Mensah will use his junior season with Duke. The 2025 Blue Devils' season is not yet complete, considering Dec. 31's bowl game against Arizona State scheduled, so his current campaign may cap off with over 4,000 passing yards and 30 touchdowns should he excel at the Sun Bowl just before this year comes to a close.

Cooper Barkate - 91 yards in title game win
Barkate caught 5 of 9 targets for 91 yards during Saturday's 27-20 overtime victory over Virginia.
Impact
Barkate tallied 91 yards to surpass 1,000 receiving yards for the second straight season. The senior wideout did it last year with Harvard, and has now done it at the Power Four level in what should be his final year of college football. It remains to be seen if Barkate will partake in the Blue Devils' bowl game against Arizona State on Dec. 31.

Jeremiah Hasley - Scores twice in ACC championship
Hasley notched three receptions (on four targets) for 19 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 27-20 overtime victory against Virginia.
Impact
Hasley stayed hot at the end of the year for Duke. He scored all five of his touchdowns after Week 10, and has 404 total receiving yards with a bowl game still to play. Hasley has one more year of eligibility remaining and now must decide how to spend it.

Nate Sheppard - Productive outing in ACC title game
Sheppard recorded 21 rushes for 97 yards and one touchdown and reeled in all five targets for 31 yards during Saturday's 27-20 overtime win against Virginia.
Impact
Sheppard was once again the Blue Devils' workhorse back, logging over 20 carries for the third straight game. He also surpassed 100 all-purpose yards for the third straight game and scored his 11th touchdown of the season. He's positioned himself atop Duke's backfield, and that should remain the case moving forward in the bowl game.

Anderson Castle - Stymied in win
Castle posted 16 carries for 35 yards during Saturday's 27-20 overtime win versus Virginia.
Impact
Castle saw a spike in carries at the end of the season, and that continued in the ACC title game as he took a season-high 16 handoffs. Still, he wasn't able to get anything going on the ground, totaling just 35 yards (2.2 yards per carry). He remained the second-fiddle to Nate Sheppard, and that should stay the same in the Blue Devils' bowl game.

Darian Mensah - Two scores in title game win
Mensah was 19-for-25 passing for 196 yards, two touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 27-20 overtime victory against Virginia. He also had five rushes for zero yards.
Impact
Mensah was his usual efficient self, completing 76 percent of his passes. And while he was held to 196 passing yards, his second-lowest total of the season, it was just enough for Duke to scape by the Cavaliers in an upset, ACC title-clinching win. The gunslinger took a major step forward in his sophomore season, and will look to end on a strong note in the Blue Devils' bowl game against Arizona State.
