Jacob Cowing - Finds end zone Cowing caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday.
Impact This is a step down from the five catches for 158 yards that Cowing had in the opener. However, he's now scored in back-to-back weeks to start the season. Cowing will assuredly beat his previous career high in receiving touchdowns with three.

Tyrin Smith - Nets 76 yards Smith caught four passes for 76 yards against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday.
Impact It's a little surprising Smith led the Miners in receiving yards, given the presence of Justin Garrett and Jacob Cowing on this team. In fact, Smith didn't have a catch in UTEP's opener against NMSU and was only targeted once.

Willie Eldridge - Nets 118 yards Eldridge rushed 14 times for 118 yards versus Bethune-Cookman on Saturday.
Impact With lead back Deion Hankins (undisclosed) out, Eldridge got the most carries in his career. As a true freshman in 2020 he only carried the ball five times in the one game he appeared in. Rushing for over 100 yards is good, but Ronald Awatt did better, and when Hankins is back he and Awatt will likely be the primary duo for the Miners.

Ronald Awatt - Steps up for UTEP Awatt rushed 19 times for 126 yards and a score against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday. he also caught one pass for 21 yards.
Impact With Deion Hankins (undisclosed) out, Awatt stepped up and was the lead back for the Miners in this game. Through two contests Awatt had 30 carries for 200 yards and two scores. Once Hankins is healthy, Awatt should still be getting touches based on this.

Gavin Hardison - Throws three TDs Hardison went 14-for-23 for 183 yards and three touchdowns against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday.
Impact It's an FCS team, but this is still a strong performance. Last year Hardison only completed 54.3 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and five picks, but so far this year his numbers are improving. Let's see how he does once the competition gets tougher, though.
