The American Conference made waves in the 2025 season with nine teams reaching the postseason

Impact Brown has recovered from his injury, participating in UAB's scrimmage Saturday and hauling in one reception. The wideout missed the Blazers' spring practice period but was expected to be healthy by the start of fall camp. Brown is slated to lead the UAB receiving corps this season as he looks to bounce back from a 2025 campaign that was cut short by injuries. It turns out Robinson was dealing with a soft-tissue problem, but it is considered minor, so much so that the running back looks probable for Week 1. UAB will look to have what may be the team's best running back then, considering the Blazers are scheduled to visit Power Conference team Illinois for their season-opener.

Jailen Holmes - Participates in spring camp Holmes (undisclosed) participated in UAB's spring camp, according to Steve Irvine of Bhambanner.com via the G5 Hive Podcast.

Impact Irvine thought Holmes logged a quality spring, so ideally for the latter, he can finally log at least some targets. As part of both Oregon State and UAB, the wide receiver has never been targeted in-game by his quarterback.

Impact Elder reportedly suffered an undisclosed injury in the spring and is without a current timeline for return. The 5-foot-11 receiver caught just a single pass for nine scoreless yards last season while dealing with injuries during his freshman year. Elder can be looked at as questionable to participate in fall camp until more details of his injury come out.

Impact Now that Collins is healthy, his primary focus becomes stepping up his game in the UAB backfield. The running back has spent multiple years with top Division I teams yet not log an in-game carry throughout his tenure. By transferring to UAB and being a legitimate contender for in-game carries, Collins is poised to finally get on the map at the collegiate level.

Impact Brown's lower-body injury is bad enough that he will miss all of spring, not just the last practice UAB recently underwent. Fortunately for him, it looks like UAB's fall camp will not have the same problem. Brown's immediate focus shifts to a quick recovery, its possibility making him probable going into the last month of the offseason.

Tiaquelin Mims - To play for UAB in 2026 Mims transferred to UAB, the team announced.

Impact Mims didn't appear in a game in 2025, and he'll get a fresh start at UAB for his senior campaign. The wideout had three productive seasons at Southern Miss before the one-year hiatus, logging at least 375 receiving yards and 24 receptions in each season.

CJ Smith - Transfers to UAB Smith transferred to UAB, the team announced.

Impact UAB will be Smith's fourth school in as many seasons, having previous stops at Georgia, Purdue and Memphis. In 2025 with the Tigers, Smith failed to log a reception. He has 12 catches for 185 yards in his career.

Braylon McReynolds - Settles on UAB McReynolds will play for UAB in the 2026 season, he announced on social media.

Impact McReynolds will spend his fifth and final collegiate season with UAB. The veteran RB is coming off a career-best season, as he logged 123 carries for 637 yards and three touchdowns for Louisiana-Monroe in 2025. He'll join a backfield that includes Coastal Carolina transfer Ja'Vin Simpkins and Georgia transfer Roderick Robinson.

Considering that fellow running backs Jevon Jackson and Isaiah Jacobs maximized their collegiate eligibility with UAB, Simpkins may be the 2026 Blazers' best RB. But for carries, Roderick Robinson, who will transfer from SEC powerhouse Georgia, can provide stiff competition though.

Impact Ideally for Robinson, transferring to a G6 college is how his FBS output improves. During the running back's first season, 2023, he logged 196 rushing yards (8.2 averaged per carry) and two touchdowns. But since then, Robinson has recorded 10 carries for 25.
