Some of the top transfers in college football includes plenty of guys who followed their coaches

Some of this season’s top college football transfers simply followed their coaches from one school to another

Jahiem White - Moving well in practice White (knee) is moving well in practice, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.

Impact Vito posted a vertical video of White using his injured knee to practice a run. All that the North Texas running back needs to clear his injury status is engage in contact, and it should ready him for UNT's 2026 season. White improves to probable for Sept. 5 at Indiana.

Nick Osho - In line for bigger role? Osho is seen as one of three under-the-radar players who could fill a key role for North Texas this season, according to Brett Vito of The Denton Record-Chronicle.

Impact Osho figures to be a depth option in the backfield in 2026, and while he sits behind both Jahiem White (knee) and Brendon Haygood, Osho could be in line for a bigger role, especially if White isn't 100 percent healthy for the season opener against Indiana on Sep. 5. Osho spent the 2025 season at Indiana State and enjoyed a breakout year last term, running for 685 yards and eight touchdowns on 5.8 YPC. He also added 10 receptions for 42 yards and a score through the air.

Chris Jimerson Jr. - Locked in QB battle Jimerson is battling Tavyen Jackson and Chaston Ditta for the QB1 gig in Denton, per Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Impact Jimerson is the returning gunslinger in this competition, as both Ditta and Jackson were transfer portal adds this offseason. The latter appears to be out in front, given his Power Four experience and the reps he took in the spring. Still, North Texas has yet to name a starter.

Chaston Ditta - Battling Jackson, Jimerson for QB1 Ditta is in a quarterback battle with Tayven Jackson and Chris Jimerson for North Texas' starting quarterback job, per Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Impact Ditta, an ECU transfer, saw mop-up action with the Pirates last season to the tune of 215 passing yards and three touchdowns on 12-of-24 passing. He's certainly not a favorite in this competition, as Jackson appears to have the inside track given his experience at the Power Four level. Still, the Mean Green coaching staff is keeping this battle open as fall camp approaches.

Tayven Jackson - Competing for QB1 gig in Denton Jackson is in the midst of a three-man QB battle with Chris Jimerson and Chaston Ditta, per Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Impact Jackson, who transferred to North Texas after one year at Tennessee, two years at Indiana and spending the most recent season at UCF, appears to be out in front in the three-man race for the starting quarterback gig in Denton, although the battle is still raging. Last fall with the Knights, he tossed for 2,151 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions, adding 85 yards and a score on the ground. He's the most experienced of the three and again, should have the inside track, but the Mean Green will let this battle rage into fall camp.

Jahiem White - Making good progress The coaching staff of North Texas is confident that White will be ready for the 2026 season, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle (via the G5 Hive podcast) reports.

Impact White was able to participate in some drills towards the end of camp but there is still not a clear answer if he's ready to suit up to begin the season. The fact that the tailback was able to compete in the camp is a good sign for the Mean Green. The running back missed most of the 2025 season with West Virginia due to a knee injury and transferred to North Texas back in January.

Impact Vaughn underwent surgery this offseason that held him out for the early portions of spring ball, but he is back in action for the North Texas offense. The tight end caught seven passes fro 59 yards last fall, numbers he'll look to build on in 2026.

Josiah Martin - Lands at North Texas Martin will transfer to North Texas, per the school's official 2026 roster.

Impact Martin didn't play in 2025 with Oklahoma, but the year prior, he logged 12 catches for 112 yards with California. Now, he'll take his talents to the Mean Green, where he'll look to crack the wide receiver rotation immediately. Martin should have three years of eligibility remaining.

Chaston Ditta - Part of North Texas Ditta is part of North Texas' roster, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.

Impact North Texas' team recently began its spring camp, and Ditta is a participant. On the field for drills Friday morning, he aims to supersede Tayven Jackson as the UNT squad's primary quarterback. During 2025, Ditta logged 14 completed passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns.

Impact Osho will join the Mean Green following two seasons with Indiana State. The 6-foot -2 running back had a breakout season with the Sycamores in 2025, running for 685 yards and eight touchdowns on 5.8 YPC on the ground while adding 10 receptions for 42 yards and a score through the air as well. He will retain two years of eligibility with UNT moving forward.

He added three rushing touchdowns. The senior is by far the most experienced quarterback in North Texas's room, but he may have to win the starting job during the offseason.
