Leaves FAU for draft Florida Atlantic announced Jan. 17 that Emmons will forgo a sixth year of eligibility to enter the 2021 NFL Draft. Impact Emmons previously opted out of playing in FAU's 25-10 loss to Memphis in the Montgomery Bowl on Dec. 23, a decision that signaled that he was preparing to make the jump to the NFL. The running back made the move to the professional ranks official in January, with his departure likely leaving Malcolm Davidson (foot), South Florida transfer Johnny Ford, James Charles and Larry McCammon (ankle) as the main candidates to handle work out of the backfield in 2021. During his two-year stay at FAU after arriving as a transfer from the JuCo ranks, Emmons amassed 353 yards and seven touchdowns on 88 carries to go with five receptions for 18 yards.
