City of Brotherly (No) Love: Philadelphia teams 0-10 at home in November
The City of Brotherly Love has yet to witness a home victory this month from any of its professional sports teams.
Yes, you read that right. The three active Philadelphia clubs have 10 losses in as many home games in November.
The NHL's Philadelphia Flyers (6-8-4) have dropped all three contests (0-2-1) at the Wells Fargo Center this month, with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday providing the most recent bit of bad news in the land of the cheesesteak.
"There's a silver lining," goaltender Steve Mason told reporters after the team claimed a point versus the Kings. "But at the end of the day, we can't be satisfied because we didn't get the win."
Home wins have been few and far between for Mason and the Flyers, who will look to end the city's downward spiral when the San Jose Sharks pay a visit on Thursday.
The NFL's Eagles (4-5) squandered a 13-point lead at Lincoln Financial Field late in the fourth quarter on Sunday and dropped a 20-19 decision to the Miami Dolphins. Chip Kelly's club will attempt to redeem itself in front of the home crowd on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The NBA's Philadelphia 76ers (0-12) are, well, as "good" as advertised this season - and their 0-6 home record this month isn't doing much to excite the fans. The beleaguered basketball club ends the month on a six-game road trip, so there's no chance for a home victory there.
At this rate, perhaps the city's first win might come from the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball. For those of you scoring at home, the last-place Phillies open their home slate against the San Diego Padres ... on April 11, 2016.
