CINCINNATI (AP) Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer headed to the locker room to be examined for a concussion late in the third quarter of a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

Hoyer was 12 of 22 for 123 yards with an interception. He played the first two series of the second half, and then walked to the locker room. He was replaced by T.J. Yates, who was signed by Houston on Oct. 28 and hadn't thrown a pass. Yates led the Texans to a pair of wins over the Bengals during the 2011 season, including the first round of the playoffs.

The Bengals led 6-3 when Hoyer left the game.
