Report: Ben Roethlisberger won't speak for Donald Trump at RNC

Saying politics is not his thing, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger won't take Donald Trump up on his offer to speak at the Republican National Convention in July, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Trump, the presumptive nominee, made headlines Friday when he said he'd consider asking "winners" from the sports world like Roethlisberger, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady and UFC boss Dana White to speak on his behalf at the convention.

He also brought up Big Ben at a campaign stop at the Pittsburgh International Airport, telling the crowd "He's with us 100 percent" to much applause.

According to Bouchette, Roethlisberger says he's golfed with Trump and has received congratulatory calls from him in the past but has no interest in endorsing him or speaking for him. Of course, the convention is also in Cleveland -- not exactly the most welcoming place for a Steelers player.

As for Brady and White, neither has tipped his hand.
