Rams offer to split a new L.A. stadium with the Chargers or Raiders

The St. Louis Rams have backed down from their all-or-nothing relocation stance.

Now, owner Stan Kroenke says he's open to sharing his Inglewood, Calif. property with either the San Diego Chargers or Oakland Raiders, according to U-T San Diego's Kevin Acee.

Kroenke's offer could effectively squash the joint Chargers-Raiders plan in nearly Carson, Calif. The league would maintain NFC-AFC balance if one team from each conference uprooted to L.A.

Then, commissioner Roger Goodell wouldn't have to re-align the AFC West. Kroenke, a strong league owner, could get what he wants. And the Chargers or Raiders could find a new California home.
