Raiders' playoff dreams were on life support until a pivotal flag flew

Derek Carr watched his teammates buckle under the weight of what looked like another loss.

Then, in one motion, they rose back to their feet to celebrate a late fourth-quarter flag which gave the Raiders new life against the Tennessee Titans.

The call -- defensive holding -- wiped out an incomplete pass that would've ended the Raiders' chances. With a second chance, Carr rallied his team to a late 24-21 win.

“I saw a bunch of bodies dropping, with guys disappointed because of how much time and effort we put into this thing,” Carr told CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair. “I saw Donald go down and I knew why he was so upset. But I also saw the joy on his face when he saw there was a flag down.”

Carr and Co. hadn't had much to cheer about the past three weeks. Their offensive production dipped significantly since midseason and those flag generally went against their efforts.

Not this time. Titans cornerback B.W. Webb grabbed Amari Cooper, and the Raiders grabbed back their playoff hopes.

“That play has been the last couple of weeks for us,” Carr said. “People were dropping all over the place and I started yelling that there was a flag. We got another chance and we went out and won it. Finally we won today. It feels really good to win again.”
