Panthers' Shockey and Connor inactive versus Lions

Published Nov. 20, 2011 12:20 p.m. ET

Tight end Jeremy Shockey and linebacker Dan Connor are inactive for Carolina's game against the Detroit Lions.

The Lions will be without backup defensive ends Lawrence Jackson and Willie Young, which could allow defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and rookie Nick Fairley to move outside on the line at times.

Shockey had been doubtful with injured ribs and Connor had been questionable with a shoulder injury. Jackson and Young had been listed as questionable with thigh and ankle injuries, respectively.

Also inactive for the Lions is cornerback Aaron Berry, who is out with an illness.

Detroit previously ruled out running back Jahvid Best because of a concussion and punter Ryan Donahue with an injured right quadriceps. Best hasn't played since Oct. 16 against San Francisco.
