Hall of Fame basketball player Alonzo Mourning sure does know his basketball. He also knows what it’s all about going up against Michael Jordan.

Speaking with the always amazing Katie Nolan on the Fox Sports show Garbage Time, Mourning said Jordan would dominate today’s NBA.

"If Michael played today, he’d probably average almost 50 a game.”

Based on how the rules have changed to favor offenses since Jordan’s retirement, we can fully understand where Mourning is coming from. More than that, the level of competition in the Eastern Conference is nowhere near up to the level of when Jordan was leading a dynasty with the Chicago Bulls. That also has to be taken into account.

Mourning also indicated that he’d love to have seen LeBron James play during Jordan’s heyday, at which point the hilarious Nolan reminded the Hall of Famer that James would have been a baby.

Jokes aside, it definitely would have been interesting to see James suit up against the best the Association had to offer at a time when the top-tier talent was probably the best in NBA history.
