Who are some targets for the 76ers at No. 3?

The 76ers tanked the season hoping to get the first overall pick. Instead, they're going to be selecting third come June 25th's draft.

But that doesn't mean Philly is going to miss out on some top-flight prospects. This draft class could be one of the best in years. Sam Hinkie can still find a future star at No. 3.

The Philadelphia 76ers, who recorded the third-worst record in the regular season, landed the No. 3 pick in Tuesday night's NBA Draft Lottery and lack a high-level lead guard. Russell is projected as a point guard at the professional level.

"It's up to them who they take," Russell said after the lottery at the New York Hilton. "There's been a lot of talk, but you never know what's going to happen, man. I know they need a wing or guard and whatnot."

Russell also was a high school teammate of Sixers big man Joel Embiid at Montverde Academy in Florida, where he claimed the duo "shared some laughs from being on the bench half the time."

Embiid was the Sixers' No. 3 overall selection in 2014 after one year at Kansas, while the 6-foot-5, 193-pound Russell could go No. 3 on June 25.

Russell averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5 assists and shot 41.1 percent from 3-point range during his only year at Ohio State. He is versatile, left-handed and has a high basketball IQ.

"If I end up [with Philadelphia], it'd be a blessing and I'm going to make the best out the situation," Russell said. "I'm ready for it."
