Before he was the 2014-15 MVP, "Chef Curry," or a Goliath-slayer at Davidson, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry was a scrawny, unheralded high school prospect.

Curry has always had his trademark shot —€” even as a baby-faced 14-year-old, as this video showed earlier this year —€” but Bleacher Report found a rare highlight video of Curry in high school, and it's awesome:

Watching Curry's high school highlights is like watching an infant learning to walk —€” you can see glimpses of his potential, but he's just not quite there yet.

While Curry's pedigree always meant he'd have avenues to exposure that other high school athletes wouldn't have, it's clear Curry's skill set comes more from hard work than natural talent.

Even in this "highlight" video, Curry looks relatively pedestrian compared to the highlight tapes of his NBA counterparts in high school —€” he's not flying high above the rim, hitting step-back 3-pointers, or breaking his opponents' ankles.

You can see traces of Curry's unparalled court vision, and his crafty drives and finishes, but he just looks like a really good high school player, and not a transcendent superstar.

Boy, how things change.
