The Golden State Warriors made quick work of the Los Angeles Clippers and put the Western Conference on notice.

Haters will say it’s preseason. Realists will realize that the Western Conference goes through one team this upcoming season. On Tuesday night, the Golden State Warriors dispatched quickly of a team with a preconceived notion that they can be a contender to the Warriors this season.

The Los Angeles Clippers came in with a rather healthy squad, but the Warriors had this thing over by the half. Klay Thompson came out firing and it quelled any concerns that he might lose shots with the addition of Kevin Durant. After struggling in his first preseason game, Durant had 21 points in 25 minutes and his best game yet.

The Warriors were up by a whopping 50 points early in the third and the backups came in for good. Rookie Patrick McCaw continued to impress for the Warriors. For being just his second game in the pros, he’s looking polished already. His on-court awareness was probably the most impressive part of his night.

Really, it’s hard to say much about a game that ended up 120-75, but the Warriors look ready. The focus was there from the beginning. There might still be an adjustment period, but these teams presented rosters that know each other better than anyone else. Even better for Golden State, it all went down on national television.
