Ty Lawson just wants to win, but that may not happen in Denver

Ty Lawson hasn't had the best week...or month...or even year. Some of that is his own doing, of course, but some of it is also because the Denver Nuggets have been one of the more dysfunctional franchises over the past two seasons. As he told Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post

"'I just wanna win,' the Nuggets point guard told me Friday, via text. 'This is the first time I've ever had losing seasons in my life.'"

This doesn't account for all of Lawson's poor decisions, nor his uneven play last year, but when a player who has experienced very little failure in his entire career is dragged through two straight seasons of losing and instability, their frustration is at least understandable.

While new coach Michael Malone didn't exactly give Lawson a vote of overwhelming confidence, he at least appeared ready, if not eager, to work with him.

"'Ty Lawson is part of our Denver Nugget family and until that changes, I can't wait to get to work with Ty.'"

If the Nuggets find a trade destination for Lawson, as they've reportedly been trying to do for some time, Malone may not get the chance to see what he can do with Lawson.
