Russell Westbrook and Young Thug are cut from the same cloth

Russell Westbrook and Young Thug are polarizing. But that doesn’t explain their strange similarities one bit.
I love Russell Westbrook. And I love Young Thug. Somehow-despite their vastly differing personalities-I find them to be identical.
Russ avoids attention at all cost. That’s part of the reason why he chose to stay in Oklahoma City IMO. Thug on the other hand thrives for attention. Whether it’s carrying around a casket before releasing Slime Season 3 or wearing a dress in the cover for Jeffrey, Thugga wants to be noticed.

Other than that, the two are nearly identical.
Both Russ and Thug are criticized for their eccentric personalities. Russ may be quiet in the media, but he doesn’t shy away from acknowledging how he’s feeling on and off the court. We’ve seen the things he wears before/after games. I’m more interested in his on the court behavior.
Russ is crazy. Cray cray. If he isn’t crashing for an offensive rebound he’s screaming at the ref about a missed call. He’s criticized for every move, and doesn’t change a thing. It’s awesome. Imagine what it’s like being Russell Westbrook.
Everybody in the world tells him to pass more yet he averaged more than 10 assists last season. They said he was the sidekick to KD. Dang right he should be angry. Nobody understands how Russ should play besides himself, and we’re going to see that this season
And than there’s Young Thug. The wonderful human being that is Young Thug could care less what the outside world thinks. He responded to negative comments about his choice to wear a dress for Jeffrey by IMPLYING HE WOULD WEAR A DRESS AT HIS WEDDING. Good for Thugga.
Both men deserve to act and dress the way they want. In this day of social media and 24-hour television all we have time to do IS criticize. It shouldn’t be. Let’s start praising our public figures for their individuality.
And I’m not done with the similarities.
Part of what makes Young Thug and Russell Westbrook so great is the fact that they don’t stop. Young Thug is on a Future-level binge, pumping out THREE mixtapes this year. Two of them are in the top 10 rap projects of the year.
Westbrook was a mere prospect coming out of college; he was never expected to be top-five talent in the league. But because of Russ’ work ethic we are blessed to watch him play night in and night out.
Both men are questioned in their field, and they have been responding to the adversity through it all. Their drive to succeed is what makes these two different from everyone else. They get joy out of proving the haters wrong.
That’s what make them great.
